Noor wins prestigious Asia Hotel Design Awards 2015

Aqua Mekong Luxury River Cruise Boat has been announced best new resort in Asia at the first Asia Hotel Design awards, hosted by Sleeper magazine.

It is the first luxury river cruise boat on the Mekong River sailing between Cambodia and Vietnam. The vessel introduces a new standard of luxury and sophistication to the region, in keeping with the original sister vessels; Aqua Amazon and Aria Amazon in Peru. Measuring 62.4 meters (205 feet) in length, the Aqua Mekong is split over 4 decks, the upper of which are for guests and lowest for all BOH activities.

The boat is a combination of both a floating boutique hotel and a resort, with bespoke interiors. The twenty outward-facing 30sqm suites, are located at the fore of the first and second decks with any facilities and amenities located to the aft behind a central lobby and cantilevering staircase, in order to ensure any unnecessary disturbance to the guests.

The first deck houses a spa, which is soundproofed and raw silk clad. The second deck is the main entry point, with a large central lobby and a cocktail lounge with rich lacquered walls. Adjacent to which is the restaurant with wrap-around views to the aft of the vessels. Upstairs, the Observation deck houses the main facilities including; bar lounge, fitness center, library, screening room, sun deck, outdoor pool and various cabanas.

The boat's interiors are contemporary Asia in style, with clean lines and slight nautical touches. They make use of many local materials and crafts to give it a sense of place, with teak and iroko woods, lacquer, rattan, Cambodian silks, Thai fabrics and local antiques.
