Type

Hotel & Resort
Project Description
Jeddah’s hospitality landscape is shifting, and The Shirvan was commissioned as a benchmark in that shift. Noor’s brief was to create a hotel rooted in Saudi culture without reaching for the obvious interiors that celebrate Jeddah without retreating into the predictable. The lobby is conceived around dramatic volume: double-height ceilings, intimate mezzanine divan seating, and a coffee nook, with carved wooden screens drawing on the architecture of Al-Balad and bespoke carpets carrying its geometry into contemporary rooms. Lighting shifts from architectural at noon to warm and residential by evening. The hotel also houses Al Sayed Seafood Restaurant, one of the oldest fish restaurants in Saudi Arabia, and Nasib, a contemporary Hejazi restaurant. It has since become the official hotel of the Jeddah Art Biennale a measure of how completely it belongs to its city.
